MetaSDT
The project

About us

Our philosophy

What we aim to do

Our goal is to provide self-determination theory researchers with a single, continuously updated, citable source of meta-analytic evidence.

We believe meta-analytic infrastructure should be open — freely accessible to anyone working in SDT; transparent — with methodology and provenance visible at every level; and living — designed to grow alongside the literature it represents.

MetaSDT builds on the Meta-Analytic Research Domain (MARD) framework articulated by Pim Cuijpers, whose own living databases (e.g., Metapsy) have shown the value of unifying a field's evidence base into shared, continuously maintained infrastructure. We see this database as a parallel step for self-determination theory that will allow us to be exposed to the full weight of empirical evidence in this field. This type of infrastructure may also advance the method of knowledge accumulation beyond the current practice of individual publications.

We hope it will be useful for researchers planning their work, research synthesists conducting meta-research, and clearer communication of what the field has learned to audiences beyond academia.
