Future plans
Comprehensive systematic coverage of the remaining SDT literature is the platform's expansion roadmap. As each module is added or refreshed, the methods pages will document its scope and methodology.
Data expansion roadmap
Update 1
- Unified search — single, up-to-date systematic search covering the combined topics (need support, motivation regulation, aspirations, causality orientations) so every construct family reaches the same recency and breadth.
- Search conducted August 2026 — currently entering full-text screening (as of September 12th).
Update 2
- International language databases — expanded searches across non-English databases (e.g., CNKI).
- Intervention data — expansion of the data on intervention studies examining the effectiveness of need supportive practices across life domains.
Platform features
- Public data release — the full dataset, analysis syntax, calculated results, and codebook are being prepared for open release (see Download data).
- Ask AI — an AI research assistant for querying the database in plain language (in development).
- Build a model — custom meta-analytic models specified and run in the browser (in development).
